Just got back from 2 marketing conferences in Sydney — Mal Emery’s “Silent Killer” Seminar and then followed by a 2-day coaching, consulting and speaking seminar.

There was massive amounts of material and ideas in the content that we’ll be looking forward to implementing, and helping once again transform our business.

And lots of new marketing materials we can adapt for our clients. Well worth the 6 days in Sydney.

Whilst we were away, we set up “out of office” messages on our emails. Unfortunately, one of Mel’s auto messages spent all of the time from Friday until Monday “looping” with a client’s auto messages (both systems missing important safeguards!) — thankfully we now know what to do next time to fix it, and despite the email box crashing, we were able to rescue every single message we received.

That meant me going through around 44 million lines of text, handfuls of emails per second and an email nightmare! Thankfully, my system can handle opening and scrolling through a 1.6Gb text file — as there were thousands of automatic out of office messages and then, sprinkled amongst those, around 80 “real” emails. I’ve recovered those over 3 hours of scrolling this morning (covering up until 8pm Friday, and then from 8pm Sunday onwards) … now just to go through the rest from 8pm Friday until 8pm Sunday — tonight for that one!
